In the summer if 2016 we traveled to Haiti to visit two orphanage homes that we are sponsoring. In addition to spending valuable time with the children, we delivered clothing, school utensils and other valuable goods that the children need to survive.
Through the media today, we mostly hear sad stories about post-earthquake or the political instabilities in Haiti. After the Earthquake, Haiti received a high influx of FDI from foreign aid and investment, however, much of it was also not properly dispersed to the proper channels. Through this service learning trip, we learned that Haiti’s children who were displaced because of the recent natural disasters have suffered a great deal of hardship. Our goal was to bring them some level of continuity and normalcy in their everyday lives. We hope to continue this vision and look forward to your generous gifts of children clothing and school supplies, so that we can continue to do our part.
